Artificial silk is composed of any synthetic fibre, which mimics real silk in terms of its texture and appearance. It could be composed of bamboo viscose, or soybean fibres, or synthetic fibres such as nylon, polyester. Besides the above, it can also be made of semi-synthetic materials such as rayon, and mercerised cotton.
