Naturally Anuradha
THE SOUL OF ASSAM, WOVEN BY HAND
From the ancient looms of Assam comes a textile story unlike any other.
Naturally Anuradha, created by National Award-winning weaver Anuradha Kuli Pegu, is a celebration of India's Northeast—its indigenous communities, its extraordinary silks, its age-old motifs and the quiet beauty of natural colour.
Woven in exquisite Muga, Eri, Mulberry and other natural fibres, each saree is created through traditional handloom craftsmanship and enriched with naturally derived colours from ingredients such as turmeric, indigo, lac, harda, manjistha and iron.
The designs draw upon the textile traditions of Assam and its indigenous communities, bringing age-old motifs into contemporary sarees that feel effortlessly elegant today.
These are not merely sarees. They are stories of land, culture, craft and generations of knowledge—preserved on the loom and carried forward by a new generation of women.
Naturally Anuradha is Assam, naturally woven.
There are sarees that are beautiful to wear—and then there are sarees that carry an entire culture within their threads. Naturally Anuradha, founded by celebrated Assamese weaver and textile designer Anuradha Kuli Pegu, belongs to the latter.
A National Award-winning weaver from Assam, Anuradha learnt the art of weaving from childhood and has dedicated her work to preserving the traditional textiles and visual vocabulary of the communities of Northeast India. Her journey has taken her from the looms of Assam to national fashion platforms, including Lakmé Fashion Week, where Naturally Anuradha was presented as part of the “Made in Assam” showcase. The Naturally Anuradha Saree
The soul of a Naturally Anuradha saree lies in its natural materials, traditional Assamese inspiration and distinctive use of colour.
Her collections work with exquisite Assamese fibres including Muga, Eri/Endi, Mulberry and Nuni silks, along with spun silk and pure cotton, depending on the weave.
What makes the textiles particularly distinctive is her commitment to natural dyeing. Her palette is created using materials such as turmeric, indigo, lac, harda, manjistha and iron, rather than conventional chemical dyes.
The resulting colours have an organic depth—indigo blues, earthy browns, deep maroons, purple, turmeric yellow and nuanced reds—with the subtle variations that make naturally dyed textiles so beautiful.
