Occasions

Perfect for festivals, weddings, cultural celebrations, festive lunches and elegant evening gatherings. Telangana Ikkat Handloom Sarees — A Legacy Carried Forward

Telangana Ikkat sarees are celebrated for their distinctive ikat-resist weaving technique, where yarns are meticulously tie-dyed before weaving to create the characteristic geometric patterns, rhythmic motifs and softly blurred edges. Traditionally associated with Pochampally, the craft is renowned for its vibrant colours, intricate precision and remarkable interplay of warp and weft.

Our collaboration with Sutra Culture Connects brings with it a particularly meaningful story. The young woman we work with is carrying forward the weaving legacy of her father, a National Award-winning weaver who devoted his life to reviving traditional Ikkat weaving at a time when the craft was steadily declining. He worked tirelessly to preserve its techniques, identity and livelihoods—and today, his daughter continues that journey with determination and pride.

Each saree therefore represents more than exceptional handloom craftsmanship; it is a living legacy passed from one generation to the next. Subtle variations in colour, alignment and pattern are inherent to the hand-dyeing and hand-weaving process, making every saree genuinely unique.

A saree woven not just with yarn, but with memory, resilience and a legacy worth preserving. Telangana Ikkat sarees are celebrated for their distinctive ikat-resist weaving technique, where the yarns are carefully tie-dyed before weaving to create characteristic geometric patterns and softly blurred, rhythmic motifs. Traditionally associated with the Pochampally region, these handloom sarees are known for their vibrant colours, precise craftsmanship and striking interplay of warp and weft.

Lightweight yet elegant, they beautifully combine traditional Telugu weaving heritage with contemporary appeal. Each saree carries subtle variations born from the hand-dyeing and hand-weaving process, making every piece unique.

Styling Tip: Pair with a solid-coloured blouse for a refined contemporary look, or choose a contrasting blouse and traditional jewellery for a more festive, heritage-inspired ensemble.
